TOMS Shoes and Charlize Theron Go Barefoot For The Day

Celebs are putting away their Louboutins for a day in order to raise awareness on behalf of TOMS Shoes.



TOMS’ annual event, “One Day Without Shoes”, takes place every April 5 and urges people to go without shoes for a day. In doing this, the company aims to raise awareness on the impact a lack of shoes and hygiene can have on a person's life.


“The problem is large but the solution is simple,” Blake Mycoskie, TOMS Shoes Founder and Chief Shoe Giver said. “Wearing shoes and basic hygiene can prevent both infection and disease due to unsafe roads and contaminated soil. By imagining a life without shoes, we can all contribute to the awareness of these conditions, which is why we ask everyone to join TOMS on April 5 and participate in One Day Without Shoes.”

So if your boss asks you why you’ve got your bare feet propped up on his desk, just tell him it’s for a good cause. If he then says, “ok, but I still don’t want your feet on my desk,” put out your cigar, and tell him you can’t work under these conditions.

At last year’s Day Without Shoes, over 250,000 people participated in 1,600 events around the world. TOMS donates a pair of shoes for every pair purchased.

Celebrities like Charlize Theron, Lenny Kravitz, Jason Mraz, and Fran Drescher are among those participating in today’s events.

Lauren Conrad Lands 3-Book Deal

For all of you aspiring writers who thought Lauren Conrad’s last bestseller was a fluke, you can go back to weeping into your moleskin notebooks. Because she just went from fashion designer to seasoned author.


Conrad had such success with L.A. Candy, that she got a three-book deal with HarperCollins. Conrad explained the trilogy, titled The Fame Game:

"This series is about a girl who loves everything that fame is, and that's all she's ever really wanted," Conrad told US Weekly. "[Madison] has fun with the press, she enjoys the attention, she welcomes scandal!"

The main character, Madison Parker, is an ambitious reality star who has to deal with scandal and backstabbing friends, but she won’t let that get in the way of becoming famous.

I don’t know where Conrad conceived the idea for an outlandish character like this. But she must’ve had to do tons of research to truly understand what it’s like to be a ruthless reality star.

Conrad insists none of the characters are based on real people; she says they’re mostly based on Hollywood stereotypes.

So it’s about Heidi Montag, then?

Conrad says she finds time to write “between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.”

“My phone doesn’t ring, and there’s nothing on TV!”

I don’t know what she’s talking about, because there are like, five back-to-back reruns of The Golden Girls at that exact time. She’s obviously crazy. That should help with the writing, though.

Kate Middleton Can Sell Anything

Kate Middleton can buy the most hideous outfit and it will fly off the shelves.


At this point it’s become a joke at all the things people are doing to make money off of the princess to be.

The not so special top that Kate wore for her engagement portrait is now available for purchase once again at Whistles. The reason it wasn’t available prior to the photo being taken was because a humble Kate wore a top that she bought on sale from the fall 2008 collection. Clearly, this girl is not a diva!

The store has decided to bring back the top so all the Kate-abee’s can purchase it at a much more inflated price.

The collarless shirt, with lacy detailing is now $203. Technically, Kate bought it at a bargain price!

Gaga Releases Country Track for Charity

If you were totally into Country Lady Gaga, it's available now on iTunes--and for a good cause!


Gaga has released "Born This Way--Country Road Version" on iTunes, with a portion of the proceeds from sales of the track to benefit the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

Gaga first sang the sang on March 24th as a gift for her fans, but the response was so overwhelming she figured why not release it and donate the proceeds!? In case you weren't aware, she's pretty damn awesome.

Gaga's Born This Way album is scheduled for release on May 23rd. I know I'll be on iTunes patiently waiting for the early release, but in the meanwhile, go country for a good cause here

Angelina Jolie's Presence Almost Causes Tunisian Riot

After flying to Tunisia at the Libya border on Tuesday, Angelina Jolie nearly provoked a riot. Probably a bunch of people trying to get adopted.


A photographer told X17online, “The people were beyond excited to see her. There were thousands of refugees screaming her name and chanting. The crowd was closing in on her and her security detail; it was intense.”

Many Libyans recently fled to Tunisia to escape the violent punishment for protesting against leader Muammar Gaddafi. Jolie, United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, visited Tunisia to speak with these refugees. Which I’m sure went something like:

JOLIE: What was it like in war-torn Libya? It must have been awful for you.

REFUGEE: Yeah…it was pretty bad, pretty bad. Homeless now. So uh… how’s that $56 million French Chateau working out? Y’all got a lotta room in there, huh?

In a statement on the U.N.’s website, Jolie said, “The international community has done well to reinforce Tunisia's remarkable relief effort. But with 2,000 people still crossing each day, we cannot let the funding dry up and we need to sustain the momentum."

Almost every single item from their Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection is something any fashionista would die for. Ok, no one’s dying here, but we would live in eternal bliss.

Since I’m loving all thing’s Gucci, my hot item of the week is the Gucci 'Madison' medium tote.

Charlize Theron was photographed at LAX airport carrying the same tote matched with her boyfriend blazer.

The only downside about the Madison is that you are not going to be able to pay rent for a few months because it retails for $3900. Since when did Gucci bags get so expensive?

K-Fed's Supersperm is Going to Be a Girl

Considering the fact that Britney's album isn't exactly flying off the shelf, she can use all the publicity she can get. And that includes her ex having a baby with his new girl.


Kevin Federline confirmed that he's going to be a father again (5 kids, 3 different baby mama's) because his girlfriend Victoria Prince is expecting.

Victoria and Kevin is 5 months pregnant and they're having a girl. Oh K-Fed and his supersperm! They even revealed the baby name: Jordan!

K-Fed told Us Weekly, "[Victoria] said that if we were going to have a little girl, she wanted to name her Jordan. And then, we actually thought that it was a boy, but we stuck with the name Jordan because, you know, it fits both ways."

He adds: "We just found out the other day that we're having a girl. So it worked out!"

So how does Brit feel about all this? "Britney is happy for him. She knows he’s a good dad," says a source. A good dad? He'll impregnate anything that moves. That doesn't necessarily make him a good dad. At least he's eating for four two to make his girlfriend feel better about being pregnant. Oh wait...

Ryan Reynolds on Sandra's Boy: I Haven't Earned the Title of "Uncle Ryan" Yet

Everyone started running with the Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock are dating story after they were photographed together a few times. In reality, the two are just really good friends.


Ryan, who’s typically a very private person, recently spoke about his good friend and former co-star.

"I would love to do another movie with her," he told Access Hollywood. "I would be a fool to say no to that! If we can work it out, I will definitely be there and on my best behavior."

And whether he’s earned the title of “Uncle Ryan” he said: "I don't think I've officially held the title of uncle," he says.

Ryan and Sandra are good friends and that’s that. Ryan, who is also newly single has been seen on out with hanging with models as any guy like him would do if given the chance. Scarlett has moved on as well. She’s been spending a lot of quality time with Sean Penn.

Fashion Lineup: Week in Review

It was a busy week in the fashion department. There were events taking place all over the globe: Vegas, New York, London, LA, and we're busy with Hollywood style events this week.


Let’s take a moment to appreciate all the amazing fashion that we got to see thanks to our favorite celebs.



Lindsay Lohan attended her first red carpet event in 9 months and she actually cleaned up well. She was spotted stealing shopping earlier in the day. But the person that stole the show was Michele Monahan in her green Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2010 dress. She looked simply amazing!




Vanessa Hudgens has moved her movie promotional duties across the pond, but unfortunately her fashion misses have just adding on to the already long list. She did all right at the London premiere wearing a Alberta Ferretti dress, but the following day she was back to the bohemian homeless chic look. Major fail!




Whether it’s to walk a red carpet or to just go to dinner, Kim Kardashian is always dressed to the nines. Kim attended the Victoria’s Secret event earlier in the week and she looked as good as the models. Later in the week she was photographed having dinner with her sister wearing a forest green dress matched with python Louboutins. Kim has every color of those new Louboutins. Can I borrow a pair?




Cameron Diaz is one of those celebrities that can do no wrong in my book. I love what she did with her outfit at 2011 CinemaCon in Vegas. She was wearing a simple Elizabeth & James boyfriend blazer with a simple black Roland Mouret ‘Cascada’ dress, but finished off the outfit with a flashy gold belt that added a lot of pazzaz to her overall look.




It might be 95 degrees in LA, but that didn’t stop Penelope Cruz from wearing a ¾-sleeved form fitting dress. Penelope is all about showing off her post baby body, as she should. She looks so good! And having Javier Bardem as eye candy definitely ups her sex appeal as well.




Julianne Hough, Rosie Huntington Whitley and Blake Lively were all in Vegas last night for the Cinemacon event at The Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas. I already discussed my infatuation with Blake Lively’s dress, but I gotta give Rosie and Julianne love too because both of those ladies looked good in their black outfits. Rosie opted for a strapless black dress with a mesh floor-length train, while Julianne rocked the black jumpsuit.

Brad and Angelina Spend Ridiculous Amount Remodeling French Chateau

You know how the location of the fireplace just isn’t right in your French Chateau, and you have to give the whole thing a multi-million dollar makeover? Ugh, it's an absolute bore. Oh wait, I live in a studio apartment in the bowels of Hollywood.


But Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie do know what it's like, apparently. Their $56 million property in Southern France is getting a major modernization.

The estate dates back to the 17th century and includes 35 bedrooms. So, one for each kid. Because they basically have a herd by now, right? They need Midwest Cattle Dogs just to gather all of them for dinner.

Also included at Chateau Brangelina is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, billiards room, jacuzzi, his-and-hers gyms, and a banquet hall.

Personally, I can’t live without separate gyms in my place, either. The very idea of a male utilizing exercise facilities with me just makes me want to vomit. What are we, barbarians?

After all the construction, Pill and Jolie plan on moving in this summer. And I plan on throwing up a little after reading that the place has it's own vineyard. And an actual moat.

Shakira Donates Big to Haiti

Could Shakira be any more perfect?The sexy songstress donated $400,000 of her own money to rebuild a school in Haiti that was severely damaged in the January 2010 quake.



Shakira and her famous hips visited about a hundred students and nuns from the school. Speaking in French she said, "I am delighted to have the opportunity to help you make your dream come true."



"I would like to tell the girls of the Elie Dubois school that you should seize the opportunity for education," she added



Can you imagine having Shakira come to your school and lecturing you on doing good in school? That's bragging rights for life. It's so amazing that she took time out of her busy schedule (and made an expensive trip to the bank) to help better these children's lives.



"In the name of the children and the government, I would like to thank the IDB and Shakira for their support to the cause of education," said Education Minister Joel Desrosiers Jean-Pierre.

New Mom Padma Lakshmi Reveals Her Diet Secrets

Lately, new moms who are also really busy with work manage to lose all the baby weight in no time. Think Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion and Penelope Cruz!



In fact, they look even better after giving birth then they did before. Definitely not fair! Especially since people like me who have never had a child have difficulty losing 5 pounds, but that’s probably because I’m sitting behind a computer every day and stuffing my face with breakfast burritos.



Top Chef host and new mom Padma Lakshmi who is 40 years old gave birth in Feb 2010 and her body is already back in tip top shape. She’s 40 and looks better than any 30 year old with no baby! Hollyscoop spoke to Padma at the Bravo upfronts where she talked about her routine in maintaining her fab body.



She said, “I exercise a lot. When I’m not working I try to eat really clean and really healthy. I don’t eat a lot of meat in fact I really support what Stella McCartney is doing with the meatless Monday’s.”



“I think that is a great initiative while I’m very omnivorous on a regular bases I don’t really eat a lot of red meat. I eat very lean protein mainly vegetables, lentils and rice,” she added.



If I’m going to listen to anyone about diet tips it’s going to be a 40-year old mom because clearly she knows what she’s doing. It’s not easy to have a body like that!
